Service certificateIn Arabic: شهادة الخدمة
Definition
A service certificate is a certificate the employer gives the worker, without charge, when the contract ends. It states the start date, the end date, the occupation and the last wage.
How it varies across the GCC
Article 64 of the Saudi Labour Law requires it, and it must not contain anything that harms the worker’s reputation or reduces the worker’s chances of finding work.
The rules that apply to a specific matter depend on the state, any free zone involved and the current text of the law, so check the official source before relying on them.
