Order on petitionIn Arabic: الأمر على عريضة
Definition
An order on petition is an interim order the judge makes without hearing the other party, on a written application, without deciding the merits of the right.
How it varies across the GCC
The procedure is searched for in the UAE, Oman and Qatar. Article numbers for orders on petition in Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2022 were not verified, so none are cited and no specific article is relied on.
The rules that apply to a specific matter depend on the state, any free zone involved and the current text of the law, so check the official source before relying on them.
